You need

The game
Uma Musume from Steam, started at least once so it has downloaded its data. It can stay closed while you use UmaStudio.
For videos
ffmpeg. Pictures work without it.

Install

  1. Open the release on GitHub with the button above and download the zip under Assets.
  2. Extract it anywhere, for example Documents\UmaStudio.
  3. Run UmaStudio.exe.

Windows may say it protected your PC, because the exe is not signed. Click More info, then Run anyway.

For video export, put ffmpeg.exe in the same folder as UmaStudio.exe.

Updating

Close UmaStudio, delete the old folder and extract the new zip. Your renders, pictures and converted characters live in Pictures\UmaStudio, so they stay.

With Python 3.12:

It opens in your browser at http://127.0.0.1:27620.
